Position: Lead, Market Research and Business Development– North Brunswick, NJ
Job Responsibilities:
Research conditions in local, regional, national, or online markets to determine potential business development of pharma product.
Gather information on competitors, prices, marketing, etc.
Assist in the effective project and alliance management for existing and new customers.
Assist in the development and maintenance of customers, competitors, and markets.
Analyze commercial, financial, clinical, and scientific competitive information and work with managers to build market entry strategies.
Identify target customers where Ascendia’s technical capabilities represent a fit and where Ascendia can realize significant value.
Assist management to plan and penetrate target customers, assess demand and technical requirements for new markets.
Assist in the development and implementation of short- and long-term operating objectives, strategies, marketing plans and budgets required to meet the growth and profitability objectives of the business.
Along with manager, create and implement effective, proactive growth strategy designed to generate new business opportunities for contract research and product out licensing in order to achieve company's revenue goals.
Attend and promote company's tradeshow including advertising and promotional efforts. Provide presentations on Ascendia to industry groups and customers.
Participate in seminars and technical workshops designed to expand the role of the business for both internal and external customer education.
Perform business development activities, including meeting with potential customers, making presentations, negotiating contract terms, and dealing with the quotation and proposal process for new projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicant must have Master of Science degree in Biotechnology, Entrepreneurial Biotechnology or related field.
Applicant must have a minimum of two (2) years of market research experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or drug delivery/contract research industry.
Must have solid understanding of drug discovery and clinical development and hands-on-experience in due diligence on investment prospects in different therapeutic areas including market research and competitive assessments for US and China markets.
Experience with negotiating and closing deals in pharmaceutical industry, and in-licensing and out-licensing for pharma pipelines is required.
Applicant must have knowledge of financial modeling including pro-forma financial statements and analysis.
Must have knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite: MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel. Demonstrated experience on setting up priorities from multiple projects and attention to detail. Domestic travel is required, approx. 10%.
40 hours per week, M-F. 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
